My Mathematics Learning Experience

Memory 1:
Learning New Math Concepts
Reflecting on my own school years, I remember needing extra time and practice as math concepts grew more challenging. That experience taught me that every student learns at their own pace and that struggling with a concept never means a student is incapable of mastering it. As a future teacher, I intend to bring patience, encouragement, and multiple explanatory methods into my instruction to support all learners.

Memory 2:
The Importance of Understanding the Process
Looking back, I remember learning math by memorizing specific formulas and steps. While that helped me get through a problem, things really clicked when I understood why those steps worked. This experience inspires me to teach for true understanding rather than just memorization. In my future classroom, I want to use visual tools, interactive activities, and open discussions so students can explore the reasoning behind math and make lasting connections.
